Linking Lung Microbiome to Biological Aging
The lung microbiome's role in biological aging and its potential association with smoking and electronic cigarette use are not well understood. Accelerated lung aging increases susceptibility to pulmonary diseases, but no studies have linked the lung microbiome to biological aging in disease-free individuals. This knowledge gap hinders the development of targeted interventions to mitigate pulmonary aging and disease risk.
