Mimecast Misdelivery in Hybrid Exchange Environment

Mimecast is incorrectly delivering outbound mail from on-prem users to M365-hosted recipients within the same tenant, causing a hop count exceeded error. The issue arises in a hybrid Exchange setup with Mimecast as MX, perimeter, and outbound gateway. Despite thorough investigation, the cause seems to be a service-tier Mimecast configuration issue.
