Preventing Silent Lies in Autonomous AI Systems

Autonomous AI systems can silently lie about their own state, leading to incorrect validation and decision-making. Two failure modes, circular validation and state model divergence, can cause this issue. These problems arise when validation logic and decision logic are not structurally separated, and when system state documentation is derived from intent rather than actual measurement.
