Accelerating Peat Formation without Complete Decay
The natural process of peat formation in bogs is slow due to the delicate balance between decay and accumulation of Sphagnum moss. The challenge is to accelerate this process without causing complete decay, which destroys the peat. Current research focuses on biofuel production, not on preserving the unique properties of peat.
