Mitigating Ionospheric Disruptions to Low-Frequency Time-Code Signals
During geomagnetic storms, solar activity disrupts the ionosphere, causing significant drops in signal strength and timing accuracy of low-frequency time-code signals. This disruption poses a challenge to maintaining reliable signal transmission. A 2.3 dBμV/m drop in signal strength and 2.4 millisecond degradation in timing accuracy were observed. Developing strategies to mitigate these effects is crucial.
