Understanding the Effects of Scarcity on Cognitive Processes
The relationship between scarcity and cognitive processes, such as attentional tunnelling and cognitive fatigue, is not fully understood. While scarcity reliably captures attention and leads to tunnelling, it does not necessarily deplete cognitive resources in a way that causes fatigue. This lack of understanding hinders the development of effective interventions for low-income populations.
