Developing Effective PTSD Treatments for Males and Females
Current PTSD treatments may not be effective for both males and females due to underlying biological differences. Research has found that females are twice as likely to develop PTSD and exhibit different levels of K27 polyubiquitination in the hippocampus after a fear-learning experience. This highlights the need for different approaches to treating PTSD in males and females. Developing effective treatments requires a deeper understanding of these biological differences.
