Create Aquaculture Genetics Banks for Genetic Resource Conservation
Commercial aquaculture relies on limited genetic resources that are vulnerable to disease, environmental change, and genetic bottlenecks, while wild populations that could provide genetic diversity are disappearing due to habitat destruction and climate change.
