Develop Deep Water Culture Systems for Large-Scale Production
Deep Water Culture (DWC) hydroponics can produce high yields with relatively simple systems, but scaling to commercial production faces challenges with water management, oxygenation, and root disease prevention. The challenge is developing large-scale DWC systems that maintain the simplicity and efficiency of small systems while achieving commercial viability and reliability. Success would enable simple, efficient hydroponic production at commercial scales, reduce system complexity and costs, improve accessibility for new producers, and provide scalable hydroponic solutions for various crops and production environments.
