Space exploration and colonization require reliable food production systems that can operate in hostile environments with limited resources, while Earth-based applications can benefit from ultra-efficient growing systems developed for space constraints. The challenge is developing hydroponic systems that can produce food in space while advancing terrestrial agriculture through space-derived innovations.
