Create Atmospheric Pollution Elimination Systems
Develop environmental engineering systems that completely remove all pollutants from the atmosphere and restore air quality to pre-industrial levels globally. Atmospheric pollution elimination would capture and process all forms of air pollution including greenhouse gases, particulates, toxic chemicals, and industrial emissions. Current air pollution control is limited to local areas and cannot address global atmospheric pollution effectively. The challenge involves developing technologies that work on atmospheric scales, creating systems that can process enormous volumes of air, and designing pollution removal that doesn't create other environmental problems. Success would eliminate air pollution as a health and environmental threat, restore atmospheric conditions that support healthy ecosystems, and provide clean air for all life on Earth. Applications include massive air processing systems that clean entire regions, industrial pollution capture that prevents emissions from reaching the atmosphere, and atmospheric restoration systems that repair damage from past pollution.
