Wildlife populations have declined 68% since 1970 while poaching and habitat loss continue, yet current conservation efforts have limited monitoring and coordination. This challenge involves creating worldwide IoT networks to track endangered species, monitor habitats, detect poaching activities, and coordinate conservation efforts across borders. Barriers include remote area connectivity, animal tracking without interference, anti-poaching security, international cooperation, and funding for global deployment. Without comprehensive wildlife monitoring, extinctions will accelerate, poaching will continue, and conservation efforts will remain ineffective. Success could prevent extinctions, eliminate poaching, optimize habitat protection, improve conservation resource allocation, and restore wildlife populations while enabling better human-wildlife coexistence.
