Understand Tissue-Specific Immunity
Different body tissues have unique immune requirements, yet we don't understand tissue-specific immune responses well enough to develop targeted therapies. This challenge involves understanding how immune responses adapt to different tissue environments. Barriers include tissue complexity, immune heterogeneity, local immune regulation, and tissue-specific therapeutic development. Without understanding tissue-specific immunity, immune therapies will be too general, tissue damage will continue, and organ-specific immune diseases will be poorly treated. Success could develop tissue-targeted therapies, prevent organ-specific immune damage, optimize tissue protection, and create precision immune treatments while advancing organ-specific immunology.
