Achieve Perfect Security Isolation in Multi-Tenant Cloud Environments
Cloud systems serve multiple tenants on shared infrastructure, yet achieving perfect security isolation that prevents any tenant from accessing or affecting other tenants' data and operations remains unsolved. Current isolation approaches provide strong security but cannot guarantee perfect isolation, creating potential security vulnerabilities. The challenge requires developing isolation mechanisms that provide mathematical guarantees of tenant separation, prevent all possible cross-tenant attacks, and maintain isolation even if some security mechanisms fail. Key barriers include the complexity of modern cloud architectures, sophisticated attack methods, performance overhead of perfect isolation, and the need to isolate multiple resource types simultaneously. Without perfect isolation, multi-tenant cloud systems will remain vulnerable to sophisticated attacks that could compromise multiple tenants simultaneously. Success would enable cloud providers to offer perfect security guarantees to all tenants, dramatically increasing trust in cloud computing for sensitive applications.
