Eliminate All Cryptographic Key Distribution Problems
Secure key distribution is one of the most challenging aspects of cryptography, yet achieving key distribution that works perfectly in any network condition and organizational structure remains unsolved. Current approaches have limitations in unreliable networks, require trusted infrastructure, or have scalability constraints that limit their practical deployment. The challenge requires developing key distribution mechanisms that work perfectly in any network environment including unreliable or compromised networks, scale to unlimited numbers of participants, and require no trusted infrastructure while maintaining perfect security. Major obstacles include establishing trust without pre-shared secrets, ensuring key distribution works in hostile network environments, scaling key distribution to massive numbers of participants, and coordinating key distribution across organizational boundaries. Without perfect key distribution, cryptographic systems will continue being limited by the difficulty of securely sharing keys, restricting cryptographic deployment and effectiveness. Success would eliminate key distribution as a barrier to cryptographic deployment, enabling secure communication between any parties regardless of network conditions or organizational structures.
