Inaccuracies in Small-Field Dosimetry Modeling
Small inaccuracies in modeling the primary electron source can lead to significant dose errors in small-field dosimetry, especially in very small fields. Current methods combining Monte Carlo simulations, detector-based measurements, and clinical planning scenarios reveal that below 0.5×0.5 cm², inaccuracies become clinically unacceptable. This issue highlights a critical problem in radiotherapy physics, where TPS modeling assumptions may dominate error sources.
