Understanding Infinite Universe Expansion

The universe's expansion from a finite size to infinity in a finite time at a finite rate presents a paradox. Given the universe has been expanding for 13.8 billion years at a rate much lower than infinity, it seems impossible for it to have reached infinity without infinite expansion time, rate, or initial size.
