NTLMv1 Bypass in Active Directory
Despite setting Group Policy to disable NTLMv1, it may still be running in the environment due to a loophole in the Netlogon Remote Protocol. This allows applications to request NTLMv1 authentication, bypassing the Group Policy setting. As a result, environments may be exposed to NTLMv1 attacks, which can lead to authentication compromise.
