Reducing CO2 Emissions through Carbon Taxes

The current carbon tax rate may not be sufficient to achieve significant reductions in CO2 emissions. Increasing the carbon tax by $10 per ton of CO2 leads to a 1.3% reduction in CO2 emissions per capita in the short run and 4.6% in the long run. However, more effective solutions are needed to achieve substantial emission reductions.
