Generalizing distributions to non-vector spaces

The standard definition of distributions as continuous linear maps from test functions to real numbers may not be sufficient for certain applications. The question arises whether it's possible to define distributions valued in non-vector spaces, such as topological affine spaces or smooth manifolds.
